- The length of the dual-study program is between three and three and a half years, depending on the course. At the end of this period, you will have a university degree and a lot of work experience
- For each dual-study program, there is the option of completing a trial internship in advance. You can find more information in the " high school student" navigation menu above
- The remuneration during the dual-study program is monthly and based on the IGM pay scale. It increases with every year of study
- Pay during the dual-study program (as of June 2023):

- LEONI offers three different types of work-study program: a dual-study bachelor’s program at a partner university in Baden-Württemberg; a degree program with in-depth practical elements at a partner university in Bavaria; and a dual-study master's program
Choose between the three forms of a dual-study program
1. Dual-study bachelor's program at a partner university in Baden-Württemberg (DHBW)
A dual-study program alternates between theory and practice phases in a three-monthly cycle. This means that you will study at our partner university in Baden-Württemberg for three months and then spend three months at LEONI, which allows you to acquire theory and practical content in an integrated manner. At LEONI you will be able to work in several departments of relevance to your degree, thereby gaining valuable work experience. Throughout your degree program, including the months you are at university, you will receive € 1,089 - 1,270 per month in pay. A dual-study program usually lasts 3 years (6 semesters). You can only start a dual-study program in the first semester. Because you will be studying at a separate university attended only by dual-study program students, the tuition groups are smaller than they are for a degree program with in-depth practical elements. This allows more targeted support in an environment that is almost family-like.
2. Degree program with in-depth practical elements at a university in Bavaria
This is a practice-integrated study program where you are enrolled at a university in Bavaria. You follow the regular course of study and attend lectures with students who are not affiliated with a company partner. During the lecture-free periods, usually from mid-February to mid-March and in August and September, you work at our company and rotate through relevant departments for your studies. The remaining months are spent at the university. Additionally, you will complete an internship semester in the 5th semester - with the possibility, if interested, of doing it at a LEONI location abroad. Furthermore, you will write your bachelor's thesis in collaboration with our company. We offer topics according to your chosen study focus. You will receive a monthly salary for the entire duration of your studies, including the months spent at the university. The program typically lasts 3.5 years (7 semesters). It is possible to start the program with advanced practice in a later semester. So, if you decide to pursue dual studies after some orientation in your degree program, it is easily achievable. We look forward to receiving your application!
3. Dual-study master's program
As with the dual-study bachelor's program, the dual-study master's program is a study model where you work for our company in parallel with your degree course. We currently offer the three-semester master's degree course in collaboration with Landshut University.
