My story at LEONI
My name is Stefan, and I started at LEONI in November 2011 as a high-voltage wiring system developer. I was part of the newly founded Electromobility business unit and worked on the first orders for Porsche and ACCUmotive. In September 2014, I then switched to project management and was responsible for high-voltage projects for various German customers. In October 2017, I became Senior Project Manager with responsibility for two major projects at Audi and Porsche. Since November 2018, I have been Team Leader Series Development in the area of high-voltage vehicle electrical systems and also act as a trainer for technical product designers. Since 2021, I have held the role of Sub-Process Owner in the wiring harness development process.
My job
As Team Leader Series Development, I am responsible for managing my employees who work as harness designers on various high-voltage customer projects. This includes managing and developing employees. The coordination of resources in existing projects is also part of the job. I also support my team members in dealing with specific technical questions from the projects. The transfer of pre-development topics from Product Development to Series Development is also part of the task in Engineering Center 1, where we work together across teams.
In my role as Sub-Process Owner, I am responsible for implementing the content of the Wiring System Development process. I am in contact with various contacts from the LEONI world in order to understand all LEONI and customer needs and implement them in the joint process.
What inspires me? Working with different people on different issues and topics. Working at the interfaces with other departments, colleagues and customers is also something I really enjoy.
My daily routine
Start of the day
I start my day in the morning with my family and, of course, a cup of coffee. We go through the day's tasks together. Depending on whether I'm driving to Kitzingen or working from home, I then start the day.
In the morning
In the morning, I first plan my day by checking my calendar for the day's upcoming meetings, answering the first emails and planning the day's topics. I then get in touch with my team if there are any upcoming issues or open topics.
In addition to the meetings during the day, I then work on various project or process topics. I also have various rounds where I coordinate with the trainees on their various topics.
Lunch break
At lunchtime, I usually go to our canteen with my colleagues. It's important for me to interact with my colleagues alongside my normal working day, and if time allows we go outside for a walk.
Afternoon
The afternoon is similar to the morning. Various project and process topics form the focus of the work. I often schedule topics relating to employee development and leadership for the afternoon, as many discussions and consultations with employees and colleagues have already taken place in the morning and these topics can then be tackled in a more concentrated manner.
Evening
I usually finish between 4.30 and 5.00 pm and then spend the rest of the day with my family.
My highlights
My highlight at LEONI is the open culture in dealing with many nations, cultures and people, as well as the open interaction between employees and managers. In addition, the size of LEONI allows you to develop within the company and you also get support for your personal development if you want to.
My view of LEONI as an employer
LEONI is a global company with many opportunities and options, which gives you the freedom you need for personal development. LEONI also offers a very modern home office model and flexible working hours. Good social benefits and a good company pension scheme are also part of the program. In short, LEONI in three words: global, future-oriented and modern.
